Before arriving in Baldur's Gate, Tarina was once a feared pirate known as Rhonda Thunderbell (also not her real name). She sailed under Captain Murosko Sessprin aboard the pirate ship The Uncivil Servant. During her pirating career, she was known for stealing loot from her fellow crew members—a trait that ultimately got her kicked out and made enemies.

She spends her time playing Baldur's Bones (a popular dice game) at the tavern, where she cheats regularly to win coin from unsuspecting patrons. Recently a group of hired mercenaries fought Dead-Eye, a scoundrel trying to kill her, in exchange for information on the Followers of the Dead Three.
